SabIÁ
SabIÁ
Conversational AI for the Nova Escola education project.

About the project
SabIÁ is an AI-powered WhatsApp assistant designed to help basic education teachers create personalized lesson plans aligned with Brazil’s National Common Core Curriculum (BNCC).
The product was developed as part of Tera’s AI Product Leaders program in response to a real challenge proposed by Nova Escola: how might we transform complex educational and assessment data into practical, actionable support for teachers?
Created by Beatriz Gonçalves, Carlos Gonçalves, Daiane Gressier, Flavia Menani, Lucas Machado Rocha, and Luiz Resende, the solution translates complex educational data into practical guidance for teachers.
Discovery + Framing
We conducted a lean discovery using recurring requests, pain points, and performance data collected by Nova Escola through its ongoing work with teachers. With guidance from Tera’s AI Product Leaders specialists, we framed the opportunity around a clear challenge: how might we turn complex curriculum and assessment information into practical, personalized support for educators?
In parallel, we explored the technical feasibility of an integrated AI ecosystem using n8n, RAG, long-term memory, and a potential multi-agent architecture. This exploration helped us address the core workflow: interpreting each teacher’s request, mapping it to the BNCC, generating an appropriate lesson plan, evaluating its use, and continuously improving future recommendations.
Creation and Prototyping
We developed a functional prototype powered by a multi-agent system responsible for understanding teacher requests, processing curriculum data, and generating BNCC-aligned lesson plans. The solution combined GPT-4, a RAG system, long-term memory, Meta APIs, and n8n to orchestrate the full experience through WhatsApp.

UI Design
A high-fidelity version was built, focusing on user interaction.

Testing
Testing was conducted with real teachers connected to Nova Escola. They used the generated lesson plans and shared direct feedback with the project team, allowing us to evaluate the relevance, clarity, and practical usefulness of the recommendations.
Results and learnings
SabIÁ was validated with real teachers and designed to support Nova Escola’s broader educational ecosystem. Today, Nova Escola’s lesson-planning resources reach more than 200,000 teachers, with over 500,000 lesson plans generated.
More than 200,000 teachers using the Nova Escola planner.
Over 500,000 plans generated.
Learnings
This project challenged me to come up with a solution for teachers that would make sense to students and BNCC using AI;
It helped me to expand my horizons when thinking about AI solutions, by integrating multiple tools.
